Identify strategies that you feel would be helpful to address workforce development needs and issues.

 Madison and Milwaukee law firms provide free/reasonable training service here as well as in other parts of the state
 Access information about statewide labor law training
 Develop local SHRM chapter and local network
 Outreach to all businesses about available resources
 Make employers want to be involved with WDB efforts, assure it’s beneficial (recruitment, labor law, etc.)
 Develop a larger force to help individual employers deal with workforce issues
 Employer network (Refer applicants to each other via Internet or forum, etc.)
 Streamline formats to enter Job Orders on the Job Net and other sources (i.e. WITC job listings)
 Send out list of attendees for networking purposes
 Identify most effective methods of recruitment
 Job Center - Identify it’s benefits to employer and sell services
 Survey county employers about knowledge and use of Job Center. Ask for two or three key issues related to workforce development, etc.
 Identify and share successful retention strategies among employers (e.g., job shadowing to understand what the job is)
 Develop and identify affordable housing
 Targeted information (businesses) to students
 Business tours
 Increase knowledge of local opportunities (students, faculty)
 Increase relevance of education to workplace
 Businesses need to market themselves to the workforce
 Business education exchange
 Collaboration versus competition
 Joint recruitment fairs (UW)
 Career Expo
 Business links/web
 Cultural sensitivity training (e.g., managers, supervisors, co-workers, non-traditional)
 BICEP strategies
 Educate guidance counselors
 Educate parents
 Train employers on how to retain employees (business leadership training)
